The Good News about Jesus

Christianity is not about what we must do but what jesus has already done

The message about Jesus is good news, not good advice, and all we need to do is repent and believe.  This means stop turning away from God and instead turn back and put your faith in Jesus.

There are various ways of explaining the good news, or gospel, about Jesus.  They all centre on how God is holy and must judge humans but thatGod is also loving and so he sent his Son to rescue us from the death we deserve.  Jesus has died on the cross and risen to everlasting life for us!

Here is one way of explaining the gospel that focuses on the idea of peace.  Do you want to know peace in your life?  Read on!

THREE: GOD WITHDRAWS HIS PEACEFUL PRESENCE AND CONDEMNS US TO DISORDER AND STRIFE.

We experience this in our relationships, from the world around us and within ourselves.
(Check out Isaiah 59:2)

TWO: WE BREAK THE PEACE BY FIGHTING AGAINST GOD AND HIS WORD

We lose real peace with God and he has to do something about our peace-breaking.

FOUR: PEACE IS COSTLY.  IT COST GOD THE LIFE OF HIS SON WHOM HE HAD SENT INTO THE WORLD.

Our peace-breaking brings us under the sentence of death. Jesus died on a cross to pay the price to restore peace.

SIX: TO RECEIVE PEACE NOW AND IN THE FUTURE, YOU NED TO ACCEPT JESUS AS YOUR PEACE-MAKING KING.

If you reject Jesus, you remain separated from God and real peace.  Death and misery await you.

If you accept Jesus, you will be reunited to God and know real peace. Eternal life and everlasting joy await you.
