Our Values
Knowing Jesus means that Brimbank Presbyterian Church seeks to be a gospel church that keeps the saving work of Jesus as our focus. This leads us to be a generous, generational and growing church, all to the glory of God.
1. A gospel church
The gospel is the good news about Jesus, who lived, died and rose again to reunite people with God. This gospel unites us as a church and informs all that we do as we follow Jesus.
(Romans 3:21-26; Philippians 1:27a)
2. A generous church
We are recipients of God’s great generosity and out of thankfulness we want to partner together in generously supporting the spread of the gospel and the growth of the church. We also seek to be a community that is generous in showing forgiveness, mercy and humility.
(1 Timothy 6:17-18; Galatians 6:10)
3. A generational church
We are a diverse family of Jesus’ followers who seek to include people of all ages and backgrounds in our church life. We also want to be good stewards of the gospel for future generations.
(Galatians 3:26-28; Matthew 19:14)
4. A growing church
We are followers of Jesus who want to continually grow in maturity, in love of the gospel and in service of God and others. We trust God will bring about this growth through biblical teaching, discipleship and leadership. We hope to see our church grow through new people coming to know Jesus and Christians growing in their relationship with Jesus. We also seek to support the growth of the church worldwide.
(1 Peter 2:2-3; Colossians 3:16; Ephesians 4:11-13; Romans 10:14-15)
5. All to the glory of God
All that we do is ultimately for the glory of God. We seek to make his name great and to give him the honour and praise he deserves. We acknowledge our daily dependence upon God as our Creator and Redeemer.
(1 Corinthians 10:31; 1 Peter 4:11)
